TERMS & CONDITIONS
Your order is important to us!
We kindly ask that all our customers read these ‘Terms & Conditions’ before booking or submitting deposit payments. Your order is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms.
CAKE TASTING & CONSULTATION
All our cakes are designed and made to order. We highly recommend booking a tasting and wedding consultation where you can give us some insight into your event, share your design inspirations, and learn more about the booking process. Each monthly tasting is $30.00. It includes (3) signature flavours and (3) rotating flavours. If a deposit has been provided, couples may request (1) complimentary monthly tasting.
CAKE DESIGN
Your invoice and design details will be emailed to you within (7) days of your consultation. Please note that any designs created by a third party will only be used by us as inspiration to reproduce or interpret the design. It will not be an exact replica. Copyright also protects some designs and therefore cannot be copied.
SERVING SIZES
Our standard serving sizes are 1” x 2” x 4” high.
All serving sizes are estimated as custom cakes and the method of slicing them may affect the final number of servings. The customer understands and accepts these terms and must order accordingly. Cake cutting guides are available for the following sizes: 4” round, 6” round, 8” round, 10” round, 12” round, 6” hexagon, and 1/4 slab.
ORDERS
We ask for a minimum:
(2) week’s notice for all confections and celebration cakes.
(4) week’s notice for afternoon tea catering and single to two-tier wedding cakes.
(8) week’s notice for three to four-tier wedding cakes.
We may be able to accommodate with less notice; however, this is subject to availability so please contact us directly to discuss the details.
DEPOSITS
All deposits become due once you have received, reviewed, and confirmed the details of your invoice. We will hold your requested event date for no later than two (2) working days after invoicing. Once this grace period has passed, your event date is no longer guaranteed and will be available to other customers. We will not treat your order as accepted until a deposit has been received via email money transfer.
All orders under $150.00 must be paid in full to secure your event date.
All orders over $150.00 will require a deposit of 50% to secure your event date with the exception of orders placed within one (1) week of the event date. These will be considered rush and are subject to an additional rush fee.
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
In the event that you need to cancel your order, deposits paid will be forfeited. In the event that we need to cancel your order, you will be notified of the reason and any deposits paid will be fully refunded; however, the aforementioned does not apply to modified or reduced orders as they are considered fulfilled. Reasons we may need to cancel include government regulations, injury, illness, severe medical conditions, an accident or death of an immediate family member.
FINAL BALANCE PAYMENT
All balance payments are due (7) working days before your delivery or collection date.
Your order will not be released until your invoice has been paid in full. If the remaining balance is outstanding (48) hours prior to the delivery or collection date, we accept no responsibility for any fulfillment or financial loss. It is assumed that the order has been cancelled and the deposit policy comes into effect.
Modifications
It is your responsibility to relay any modifications to the order. Please note we are unable to make any changes within (2) working days of the delivery or collection date. We reserve the right to increase the quoted price and will provide an adjusted invoice for confirmation. It may include additional design fees, the cost or loss of supplies for the order, and rush fees. We will try our best to accommodate where possible, but cannot guarantee to do so.
CHANGE OF DATE
If for any reason you need to change your original event date, please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you on a new date, but cannot guarantee availability. Do keep this in mind when booking as any payments made are non-refundable and non-transferable. If we are fully booked on your newly requested date(s) then your deposit is forfeited.
COLLECTION
Collection of your order should be arranged at the time of payment or shortly afterwards. We will not accept liability for any damage sustained to your order once it has been handed off to the customer.
DELIVERY
Delivery of your order should be arranged at the time of payment or shortly afterwards.
Orders under 15 km from L5N include delivery.
Orders over 15 km from L5N are subject to a delivery fee of $1.50 per km.
Distances are calculated using Google Maps. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided the correct delivery details and to ensure that the specified location is accessible at the arranged time. If no one is available to receive your order at the agreed delivery time, your order will be returned to the business. You will be contacted to arrange a pick-up or alternative delivery time for which a charge will be payable. We accept no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the customer as a result.
SETUP
We want your order looking its very best!
All large orders include setup. We just ask that the presentation table be stable, level, and sturdy enough to support your order - some cakes can weigh up to 10 kg. If your order is to be setup by the venue staff, we will provide detailed instructions on how it is to be displayed and obtain a confirmation to verify transfer of responsibility. Once the order is setup, we are not responsible for any interference or damages.
RENTALS
Please inquire about rentals at the time of booking.
We provide cake stands, platters, and more through our afternoon tea catering service. Each item requires a separate rental fee and deposit to cover any damages. This may include chips, cuts, scratches, breakages, cracks, rips, tears, dents, bending, staining, and discolouration. All rentals should be cleaned and returned in the original packaging within (3) business days of your event. Failure to return rentals on the specified date will a carry a penalty of 25% of the deposit per item per day until the entire deposit is lost.
A full reimbursement of the deposit portion will be provided upon return with no damages.
VENDOR EXCLUSIVITY
We kindly ask to be informed if similar items will also be provided by other vendors. We all work extremely hard to maintain our specific styles and curate a body of work. It would be appreciated if we had the opportunity to connect and modify our displays or packaging to help your guests distinguish each vendor’s products.
NON-EDIBLE SUPPLIES
Your order may contain some non-edible items such as ribbons, dowels or floral wire. We will make the recipient aware of any non-edible items that must be removed before serving.
FRESH FLORALS
We arrange for all the fresh florals used for your order; however, if you have a florist, we recommend connecting with them first to see if they can provide any additional blooms and at what price point. Please note that some florals are not food safe and may be replaced with an alternative.
QUALITY & STORAGE
Your order will be prepared as close to your delivery or collection date as possible to ensure peak quality and freshness. Any products with dairy or fruit based fillings should be refrigerated and consumed within (72) hours of the first serving. This is at the customer’s discretion. Any products decorated with fondant or gumpaste should be stored in a cool and dry place so that they avoid picking up moisture. They should not be refrigerated!
FOOD ALLERGIES
Please be aware that while your order may not be made with nuts or nut products, it will have been prepared in a kitchen where nut products may be used in other products. We cannot guarantee that your order will be free from all traces of nuts. All products may come in contact or contain soy, wheat, dairy, and nuts. It is your responsibility to inform us and your guests of this allergy information. We shall not be held liable for any allergic reactions.
WEATHER
Heat and humidity can adversely affect your order. It is strongly suggested that orders being collected by the customer be transported with the air-conditioning on full blast. In warmer months, it is advised that cakes and dairy-based products be kept refrigerated or in an air-conditioned area. It will melt! We are in no way responsible for any damage that may occur due to weather conditions.
REFUNDS
Where damage has occurred at the irrefutable fault of our business, a partial or full refund may be remitted. This will be determined on an individual basis. Customers are always informed of the specific care required for their order. Improper handling can compromise the overall design and/or structure. As such, proof must be provided immediately via video call or time stamped pictures. Assuming all precautions have been taken by us to provide you with sound structural support and complete care instructions, we accept no liability for any damage that may occur once the order is in the customer’s possession.
CHANGES
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. In the case of a revision, we will try to provide ample notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes as a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
